How My Blogging Journey Actually Started

Well hello there! My name is Inez Campbell, founder of Project Avon Beauty Share and owner of Avon Now by Inez Campbell. This is my very first blog entry! It’s taken me a while to get started, and it feels super fantastic!

Let me tell you more about me. First and foremost I am a Christian. I am married to a deejay, and bonus mom of three very creative adult children. Moreover, I‘m a trainer at an international law firm where I help attorneys and business staff understand and use technology. Yes, I am a much like a hummingbird and wear a lot of hats like many of you. 😁

Why did I start blogging? Essentially, I was inspired by God to do it after He brought Avon into my life. But if you want to know the backstory then read on.

So about five years after I heard a voice behind me say, ” You should sell this (Avon)”, I felt a strong desire to blog coming from a transcendent place. So, I started researching on the internet and talking to other bloggers. I also spent a great deal of time thinking about what to write about and a name for my blog. I’m a thinker and I love doing research so this approach seemed right. But what happened is I became paralyzed by the sheer volume of information I was getting from the internet and other bloggers. I began questioning whether it was God. Then I prayed. I would even sit down and attempt to write but nothing came to me. And I prayed some more. I started telling myself that no one was interested in what I had to say. And I prayed and thanked God. I told myself if you do this its not going to work out. And I prayed and thanked God. You have enough on your plate, I said. Just keep doing what you’re doing. It’s safe that way. And I thanked God. Well after five years of researching, thinking, sitting on the fence, praying and negative self-talk, I said, “Today is the day I stop playing it less safe. Today is the day I stop waiting for the perfect domain name, logo, website, content and on and on. This is the day that I will get off the fence. The day I stop thinking about blogging. The day I decide to trust God and start the blog.

After I took made a decision, I didn’t know what to call it and what to write about. As an Avon Advisor with a charitable focus, I wanted to use the platform to promote the business so I can give back to the community and bring beauty to women and improve their lives. But I also wanted to share my love for words, my experiences and expertise to transform and inspire others. After much thought, I chose the name Project Avon Beauty Share after a yearly fundraiser I started three years ago.
